Button Tree Ornaments
Here's a fun ornament craft that your kids can make!
It's so easy and cute, it's perfect for gifts - teacher gifts, aunt and uncle gifts, grandparent gifts... We decided to add them to the bows on our boxes as a little surprise with their tags.
All you need to make these cute Christmas ornaments is:
star pony beads in your choice of color
green buttons in a variety of sizes
brown pipe cleaners
Here's the tutorial!
Fold a pipe cleaner in half.
Twist the top a few times to make a loop.
Slide both ends of the pipe cleaner through the star bead. Slide it all the way to the loop.
Slide the teeny tiny green button on, one end of the pipe cleaner through one hole and one end of the pipe cleaner through the other hole.
Slide it up to the star.
Now slide on slightly larger buttons - one end of the pipe cleaner through one hole and the other end through the other hole.
Slide it all the way to the star, now you've got a couple buttons on, getting bigger as you move down.
Keep sliding those buttons on!
Continue sliding buttons on, moving from smaller buttons to bigger buttons. Make sure you're sliding one pipe cleaner end through one hole and the other through another hole.
After you place your largest button on, twist the two pipe cleaner ends together.
Trim them down a little,
then fold the twisted ends up and stick them into a hole in the button.
And you're finished!
Make a bunch!
You could use these button trees as key chains, necklaces, and more! But they look really cute on the Christmas tree.
