Dinosaur Diorama Ornaments

We generally decide on a theme for Christmas decorations (mr says I'm a little OCD like that). This year, although he didn't entirely understand why, I really wanted "A Dino-Mite Christmas!" Which included a lot of dinosaur type things. And to his credit, he didn't really give me a hard time about it, but decided to just go with it. So. We went with it!

Here're my first DIY items for the tree this year:

Here's what you need:

Glass containers with cork toppers

mod podge

gold glitter (coarse or fine)

tiny dinosaurs and tiny trees

styrofoam ball - tiny!

super glue

scissors

eye screws

foam brush

gold thread or string

Let's go!

1. Clean off your container with goo gone if necessary.

2. Pour a little mod podge into the glass container.

3. Use the foam brush to spread it around up the sides a little.

4. Pour in your glitter.

5. Tip the container around to get the glitter all over the mod podge.

6. When you're done you should have glitter on the bottom and just a bit on the sides.

7. Cut a tiny ball of styrofoam for the dino to stand up on, so he'll be a bit more visible.

8. Put super glue on his feet.

9. Push his feet into the styrofoam just a little.

10. Super glue the styrofoam ball to the bottom of the glass container. Glue in a tree or stone or anything else you want to include. Pour just a little glitter in to cover the foam.

11. Put super glue all around the cork lid. Push the cork lid into the glass container so the glue will keep it from popping out.

12. Screw the eye screw into the cork.

Use gold thread to hang it from the tree!

If you want an unconventional tree this year, like I did, try out these ornaments!

They're dinomite.
